Hi {{ first name | reader }}!

A few months ago I was helping a client record the first few episodes of his new podcast.

He’s a financial advisor. Smart guy. Deep experience. The kind of person who’s incredibly helpful once you sit down with him.

But he had a question before we started rolling.

“Do people actually believe podcasts?”

We were in his office with a simple setup. One Sony FX3 camera. A Shure SM7B on a boom arm. Two soft LED lights to keep it clean and professional.

Nothing fancy.

We recorded a 20 minute conversation about how clients should think about market volatility.

Two weeks later he emailed me.

“Someone called after listening to episode two. They said they felt like they already knew me.”

That’s the real power of video podcasting.

It’s not just reach.

It’s credibility.

STEAL THIS IDEA:
A new study from Edison Research caught my attention this week…

They analyzed a campaign where a pharmaceutical brand shifted just 5% of its TV advertising budget into podcasts.

Not added.

Shifted.

The result? Reach among adults 18–54 jumped from 39% to 55%. That’s a 41% lift in reach and 26 million additional people reached with the same budget.

That’s remarkable.

But what matters even more for professionals like you isn’t just reach.

It’s trusted attention.

Podcasts work differently than most media.

If you're building one for your business, lean into what makes the format powerful:

Use conversation instead of presentation.
Podcasts feel credible because they sound like real thinking, not scripted marketing.

Speak in full ideas, not soundbites.
A 10 minute explanation builds more trust than a 30 second clip.

Answer questions your clients actually ask.
The best episodes sound like the conversations you already have in meetings.

Let your personality show up.
Credibility grows when people hear how you think, not just what you know.

When someone listens to you for 20 minutes, something interesting happens.

They start to feel like they know you.

And that changes everything.

That’s all for now, have a wonderful week!
